terms

The agreement, in plain words.

Last updated: May 2026

The short version

nido is a small, private record-keeping app for new families. By using it, you’re agreeing to use it kindly and accepting that we run it as best we can — but without warranties. You own your stuff. You can leave any time.

Who we are

nido is operated by an individual developer based in Iceland. Reach us at einargudnig@gmail.com.

Your account

You sign in with a magic link sent to your email. Keep your inbox secure — anyone with access to your email can sign in as you. You must be at least 16 years old.

One person, one sign-in. Don’t share your magic links with others — invite them to your nest instead.

What you put in nido

Photos, item names, notes, names of people in your life — all of it stays yours. We don’t claim ownership of your content. We don’t use it to train models. We don’t share it with anyone outside the people you’ve invited to your nest.

Members of your nest can see everything in it. You decide who joins. Don’t add someone to your nest if you wouldn’t want them seeing what’s already there.

Acceptable use

A few simple asks:

  • ·Don’t upload illegal content, content you don’t have the right to share, or content meant to harm others.
  • ·Don’t try to break the service, scrape it at scale, or use it to send spam.
  • ·Don’t pretend to be someone you’re not.

If we discover serious abuse, we may suspend or remove the offending content or account. We’ll do our best to tell you why.

Service availability

nido is provided as-is. We aim for it to work reliably and we care about it deeply, but we don’t guarantee uptime, and features may change as the service grows.

We back up the database regularly, but you should consider anything you put in nido to be best-effort durable, not irreplaceable. (When data export becomes self-serve, you’ll have your own copy.)

Pricing

nido is free during early access. If pricing changes, we’ll tell you in advance. You’ll never be charged without your explicit consent, and you’ll always have a path to keep your data even if you don’t want to pay.

Leaving

You can delete your nest from the Nestpage at any time. That removes everything in it — items, photos, people. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

We may also end or suspend your account if you seriously break these terms. We’ll only do this when we have to.

No warranty, limited liability

To the extent permitted by Icelandic law: nido is provided without warranties of any kind, and the operator’s liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to what you’ve paid us in the past twelve months (which, during early access, is zero).

None of this limits your rights as a consumer under mandatory Icelandic or EU law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Iceland. Disputes will be heard in the District Court of Reykjavík.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as nido evolves. If a change is material, we’ll let you know by email or by an in-app notice. Continuing to use nido after the change means you accept the new terms.
